
For centuries, the "agaseke" (traditional Rwandan basket) has been an essential part of Rwandan culture, as vessels for food and grains, and gifts for important ceremonies, like weddings and christenings. Today , it symbolizes peace and reconciliation in the aftermath of the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi.
