This review corresponds to the IPBES transformative change assessment. The scoping report of this assessment establishes that one of the questions the report should address is "Which obstacles and challenges impede transformative change toward a sustainable world, how might they change over time, scale and context, and how can they be overcome?" In this context, section 5.5 Shifting power towards just and sustainable pathways explores why overcoming existing power imbalances and inequalities can help transit towards just and sustainable pathways and engage with diverse actors. The present report describes how references were retrieved to support this section.
