A celtic cross. Treading across the moors, with the grouse creaking in your ears, you happen upon a shrine to the Elder Gods, limned with eldritch light, and bestowing powerful gifts on those brave (or foolhardy) enough to venture near. Or, in a frosty graveyard, with the owls hooting in the trees, and the cold biting your frozen fingers, a shadow suddenly looms from the night, shocking you into stillness, whilst the trees claw at you with their gnarly fingers, and the chittering bats throw shadows through the creeping fog.
