Zammara guyanensis Sanborn 2020

Abstract

Zammara guyanensis Sanborn, 2020d Zammara guyanensis Sanborn 2020d: 455 (13 km W of Risquetout, N04°54.028’, W052°34.494’, French Guiana). Zammara brevis (non Distant) Thouvenot 2007: 13–14, Fig. 1. Zammara eximia (non Erichson) Sanborn 2011a: 378–379. Zammara eximia (non Erichson) Sanborn 2013: 62. Zammara guyanensis Goemans 2016 nomen nudum: 175–183, Figs. 45–47. Remarks. The species is easily distinguished from Zammara conflutrimacula n. sp. in the five (sometimes six) spots of infuscation on the anterior and middle of the fore wings. Zammara guyanensis lacks fore wing infuscation on the junctions of the median veins and cubitus anterior 1 intersecting the ambient vein and lacks the spot on the bifurcation of median veins 1+2 and 3+4 found in the new species. Thouvenot (2007) illustrates some of the variety in the spotting pattern seen in Zammara guyanensis. Distribution. The species is currently known from French Guiana and Suriname (Sanborn 2020d).
