Gestión de Centros Históricos en América Latina: ¿Prácticas orientadas a la sostenibilidad?

Abstract

La Gestión de los Centros Históricos (CHs) en América Latina se configura según parámetros establecidos por la Organización de las Naciones Unidas para la Educación, la Ciencia, la Cultura y la Comunicación (UNESCO). Este ente otorgó legitimidad a los mismos, promovió su reconocimiento e impulsó parámetros de actuación para su desarrollo, preservación y consolidación. De allí el interés por un abordaje de tipo documental y bibliográfico, con base al análisis histórico institucional, de las formas de gestión sostenible de los CHs en Latinoamérica, a partir de experiencias reconocidas. Las conclusiones revelan la existencia de criterios de intervención que apuntan al nuevo paradigma de la sostenibilidad, dejando abierta la posibilidad de realizar investigaciones, en el caso de los CHs de Venezuela, particularmente el de Barquisimeto.
