Reed, 1888: 289 (cat., Hirmoneura); Hunter, 1901: 150 (cat., Trichopthalma); Kertész, 1909: 29 (cat.); Lichtwardt, 1910: 610 (Eurygastromyia). Syntype. Female (MZUN), “ Chile ”. Refs. Biology. This species has been observed by citizen scientists visiting A. aurea, F. magellanicus, Junellia spathulate (Gillies & Hook.) Moldenke, and the exotic Raphanus raphanistrum Linneus, Dianthaus chinensis Linneus, T. officinale, Hebe sp. and Ranunculus sp. Additionally, Devoto & Medan (2006) also recorded this species visiting Escallonia virgata (Ruiz et Pavón) Persoon.
