Door with its jamb, Antwerp, 1633 in a cartouche, oak. Musée d'Art et d'Histoire (Musée du Cinquantenaire, Brussels, Belgium). Made of 350 pictures with RealityCapture. In spite of some still resurgent motifs, the twisted and recessed columns, as well as the decorations of acanthus leaves, the band of ovals, the figure of an angel carved in high relief give this monumental door its baroque character. Contemporary architectural treatises gave the styles of capitals symbolic significance. In this case, the Corinthian crowning of the columns would express the luxury and comfortable position of the owner. For more updates, please consider to follow me on Twitter at @GeoffreyMarchal.
