Abstract

A Biomedicina busca entender as complexidades do corpo humano e suas patologias, incluindo a hiperidrose axilar, que afeta significativamente a qualidade de vida. Diversos tratamentos foram propostos para a hiperidrose, mas a toxina botulínica tem se destacado como uma abordagem eficaz. Originária do Clostridium botulinum, essa toxina, além de usos estéticos, atua controlando a hiperidrose. O objetivo geral do presente trabalho foi investigar a ação da toxina botulínica como tratamento para hiperidrose axilar, analisando sua eficácia, mecanismo de ação e potenciais efeitos adversos. O presente trabalho Trata-se de uma revisão bibliográfica narrativa, realizada nas bases de dados Google Scholar, Scientific Eletrônic Library Online (SCIELO) e Portal Periódicos CAPES, considerando artigos, livros e teses sobre o tema, publicados entre 2019 e 2023. Constatou-se que A toxina botulínica demonstrou eficácia notável no tratamento da hiperidrose axilar, melhorando significativamente a qualidade de vida dos pacientes. Apesar de seus benefícios, os efeitos adversos, quando presentes, são geralmente leves e transitórios. Sua versatilidade se estende a várias áreas da saúde, desde estética até odontologia. Estudos sistemáticos fornecem uma compreensão robusta de sua eficácia no tratamento da hiperidrose. A pesquisa contínua é vital para otimizar os protocolos de tratamento usando toxina botulínica.
