Legs yellowish-brown. Forecoxa in lateral view yellowish-brown. Foretibia with 3–4 dorsal setae. Foretarsomeres slender, elongate. Midcoxa brown. Hind coxa yellowish-brown. Hind coxal lobe light brown, short, with short, dorsally-curved ventral process appearing sharply pointed in profile. Posterior face of hind femur with elongate basal group of peglike setae; ventral concavity short, round, filled with spinuli, with narrow area of white membrane on basal and distal margins (Figs 141–142, 285). Abdomen: Abdominal tergite 1 dark brown, tergites 2–6 dark brown. Venter of abdomen gray, with few setae, larger on posterior margin of segment 5. Male terminalia dark brown, except cercus yellow. Distribution. Costa Rica and Panama. Derivation of specific epithet. Named for the pointed ventral process on the hind coxal lobe. Holotype. ♂, PANAMA: Canal Zone, Barro Colorado Island, 9.17°N, 79.83°W, 17–24.iii.1993, J. Pickering, Malaise trap #958 [LACM ENT 089607] (LACM). Paratypes. 3♂, same data as holotype, 4♂, 5–12.v.1993, 2♂, 24–31.vii.1996 (LACM, MIUP). Other material examined. 24♂ specimens from the following localities: COSTA RICA: Heredia: La Selva Biological Station (INBC, LACM).
