Abstract

The applications of human genomics bring many benefits but also raise concerns. Applications of genome analysis in research, healthcare, direct-to-consumer, and forensics come with different benefits and risks, and so do the gene editing technologies deployed in research and healthcare. Find out about the impacts of these technologies and the people affected in this SIENNA infographic, and how the SIENNA project will help address some of these issues by analysing the legal, ethical, social & economic impacts of human genomics, connecting with citizens to understand their concerns via surveys in 11 countries & panels in 5 countries, consulting experts and discussing ethical & human rights issues, and developing ethical codes & protocols.
