Saridoscelis kodamai Moriuti 1961

Abstract

Saridoscelis kodamai Moriuti, 1961 (Figs 4, 10, 13) Saridoscelis kodamai Moriuti, 1961: 65. TL: Japan. TD: OPU. Diagnosis. Adult (Fig. 4). Wingspan 13.0‒ 15.5 mm. Saridoscelis kodamai can be distinguished by the socii with 5‒7 sclerotized plates of fringed sensillae, the tegumen with a pair of conical processes, the spherical ventral plate of the gnathos, and the valva widened medially in the male genitalia (Fig. 10); the large lamella postvaginalis widened medially, and the long, oval corpus bursae in the female genitalia (Fig. 13). It is similar to S. baoshana Wang, sp. nov. in the male genitalia, and the differences between them are stated in the diagnosis of the latter species. Material examined. CHINA, Guangxi: 1♁, Mt. Daming, 1250 m, 24.V.2011, leg. LL Yang & YH Mou, slide No. LHY21763; Guizhou: 1♀, Jinding, Mt. Fanjing, 2100 m, 31.VII.2001, leg. HH Li & XP Wang, slide No. JQ07347. Distribution. China (Guangxi, Guizhou, Hunan), Japan, Korea, Russia. Remarks. According to Moriuti (1961), the socii of S. kodamai have 5‒6 sclerotized plates. In this study, we found the socii of an individual have 7 sclerotized plates.
