MUTISMO SELETIVO: UMA REVISÃO INTEGRATIVA DA LITERATURA

Abstract

Este artigo apresenta uma Revisão Integrativa da Literatura sobre o Mutismo Seletivo nos últimos onze anos. Foi eleito como objetivo sintetizar resultados obtidos em pesquisas sobre mutismo seletivo no Brasil e em Portugal. O Mutismo Seletivo (MS) é um transtorno ainda pouco conhecido pelos educadores e psicólogos escolares, o que torna o seu diagnóstico tardio e acaba impactando a aprendizagem e o desenvolvimento da criança, principalmente no âmbito escolar e social. O Mutismo Seletivo foi classificado como um Transtorno de Ansiedade e caracteriza-se pela falta de comunicação oral em determinados ambientes, principalmente na escola, podendo, inclusive, ser confundido com uma timidez extrema, fazendo com que, assim, ocorra um retardo no diagnóstico. Como forma de amenizar os impactos causados pelo MS é indicada a ludoterapia que, além de ser aplicada como tratamento, também facilita a comunicação e socialização de crianças com MS. Conclui-se que o estudo e a pesquisa sobre este transtorno é fundamental para promover um acompanhamento adequado da criança, tanto por parte dos docentes quanto dos familiares, e prevenir, dessa forma, maiores impactos no atraso dos processos de aprendizagem
