The technical mapping objective was to identify the services the OPERAS Consortium would have to develop in the future and the method of implementing them in a fully distributed infrastructure. To achieve this objective, OPERAS must first know better its own technical environment, which is very diverse and uneven and then involve users to identify clearly what services are needed by the stakeholder communities. The technical mapping of the OPERAS environment is meant to provide a global description of the technical, organisational and information systems within the OPERAS Consortium. More precisely, the mapping has collected detailed information about workflows, softwares, development languages, data and metadata management, dissemination and distribution tools.
