Digital Tools & Big Data: Zu Gegenwärtigen Herausforderungen Für Die Film- Und Medienwissenschaft Am Beispiel Der Feministischen Filmgeschichtsschreibung

Abstract

Der Beitrag erläutert die epistemischen Bedingungen digitaler Filmhistoriographie am Beispiel der feministischen Filmgeschichtsschreibung. Exemplarisch analysiert er die Konstitution von Wissen durch das Wechselspiel einzelner Medienpraktiken anhand verschiedener Forschungsprojekte. Zunächst gibt der Beitrag einen Einblick in die feministische Filmgeschichtsschreibung, um in einem nächsten Schritt den Umgang mit Quellen angesichts der wachsenden Materialfülle im Internet zu problematisieren. Dabei geht es um die Aussagekraft algorithmenbasierter Forschung und digitaler Datenbanken. Anschließend werden die Quellen selbst reflektiert sowie Praktiken des Sammelns und Speicherns. Im Schlusswort werden die gegenwärtigen Aufgaben von Filmhistoriker_innen diskutiert. Zudem gibt es einen Ausblick auf noch zu erforschende Felder der Filmgeschichtsschreibung im Zeichen der Digitalisierung.
