Abstract

In this paper we seek to contextualize our research on gender parity in Argentine archaeology over the last 30 years. From the pioneering work by three of us in 1993 on gender parity in CONICET and the ersidad de Buenos Aires to the recent updating and expansion of that information, including the Universidad Nacional de Córdoba, the context of academic and teaching practice has changed a great deal, although not as much as would be desirable in terms of equal representation of women. Here we analyze these changes in context from both an objective and a subjective perspective and wonder about ways to continue moving towards such equity and that of diverse gender identities.
