Fitting power-law relationships in watershed science and analysis, with an example using the R language

Abstract

Scripts used to compare different approaches to fitting power-law relationships in watershed science and analysis, with specific application to relating the two-year return-period annual peak flow to catchment area in the Canadian portion of the Columbia River headwaters. An article based on this analysis is published in the journal Confluence: Journal of Watershed Science and Management. The leading number on the file names for the scripts indicates the order in which scripts should be run. See comments within the scripts for more information.
