Bothrocophias microphthalmus (Cope, 1875) Type locality. Between Balso Puerto and Moyabamba, Peru. Distribution. Known from Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru, mostly in Amazonia (Plt. 51A). In Brazil, recorded from a single locality in western Amazonia (Bernarde et al., 2012a; Plt. 51A) at low elevation (Plt. 51B). Previous maps and taxonomy in Campbell and Lamar (2004). Observed in the field in forest (Campbell and Lamar, 2004).
