The main approaches to the formulation of the concept of quot;infrastructurequot; are outlined. The place and role of infrastructure in the modern global and European economy is revealed. The activity of the European Union on the formation of a modern infrastructure of Republic of Moldova corresponding to its status as a candidate country for EU membership is described.
