Decolonialidade e desenvolvimento na América Latina, algumas reflexões

Abstract

The aim of this theoretical essay is to explore the conceptions of progress and development based on decolonial studies as a support to think about possibilities other for Latin America, as well as to present some of the contributions of Bem Viver in dialogue with the notion of possibilities other. Therefore, the theoretical exercise developed here establishes reflections from the decolonial perspective, approaching the conception of progress, historical movement from the perspective of development and the emergence of Bem Viver in Latin America. It affirms the need to think about other possibilities in front of the universal model of development that emphasizes the exploitation and intensive industrialization of nature, as well as guides the modes of production, economy, and social existence in Latin America. In the scenario of possibilities other, the conceptions of thought brought by decoloniality allied to the emergence of Bem Viver make it possible to advance in the detachment of the development perspective, allowing to aim for horizons other of production, economy and social existence based on solidarity and coexistence between society and nature.
