Abstract

Su, tarih boyunca göçebe yaşamından yerleşik tarımsal üretime dayalı yaşam biçimine geçişte önemli bir rol oynamıştır. Bugün dünya üzerinde birçok ülkede olduğu gibi sulu tarım toplumun tarımsal üretiminin temelini oluşturmaktadır. Dünya nüfusunun %40'ından fazlasının su stresi yaşadığını ve önümüzdeki 50 yıl içinde su kıtlığı ile karşı karşıya kalacağını tahmin edilmektedir (Mancosu ve ark., 2015).
