Abstract

El producto ecuatoriano incorporado (PEI) surge a través de la política de Estado como una forma de incentivar la producción industrial en el país. Por ello, este artículo tiene como objetivo estudiar la producción, e importación de los insumos intermedios del sector manufacturero del Ecuador, para ello se realizó un estudio transversal, exploratorio y descriptivo, se recopilaron datos obtenidos mediante canales oficiales de las empresas de los sectores económicos manufactureros y que empleen cierto número de materiales de diferentes destinos en sus procesos productivos, se utilizó una muestra aleatorio simple, separando a las empresas por Actividad económica, luego se procedió a utilizar la técnica econométrica datos de panel, incluida en un conjunto de herramientas multivariantes destinadas al análisis de la dependencia entre variables. Se evidenció una fuerte relación de las importaciones para el proceso final de un bien, esta práctica genera desequilibrios estructurales. Como conclusión se evidenció fuerte relación de las variables y alta dependencia de productos importados, el sector de la manufactura juega un papel importante en muchos países, en Latinoamérica, especialmente en Ecuador, el cual tiene alta dependencia de insumos intermedios para la producción de productos locales lo que lleva a que el país no se industrialice y dependa de insumos importados.
