Observations on the nesting of Osmia (Allosmia) sybarita Smith 1853 (Hymenoptera, Megachilidae) in Crete. - We provide the first observational evidence that the females of Osmia (Allosmia) sybarita Smith 1853 bury their nest made in empty snail shells. This behaviour is similar to that of several of its sister species in the subgenus Allosmia, such as O. (Allosmia) lhotelleriei Pérez 1887, O. (Allosmia) melanura Morawitz, 1871, and O. (Allosmia) rutila Erichson, 1835.
