SNSF Datastory - SNSF open data: how to combine datasets to explore the diversity of research outputs

Abstract

Datastory: SNSF open data: how to combine datasets to explore the diversity of research outputs To facilitate the analysis of its funding activities, the SNSF provides data freely. This data story demonstrates how to combine SNSF datasets, in this case to identify the share of grants with different types of research output. EnglishGermanFrench Author(s): Simon Gorin Publication date: 23.10.2025 Data description The data used in this data story are downloaded directly from the datasets available on the SNSF Data Portal. The different datasets we used in this data story are: Grants Output data: Scientific publications Output data: Use-inspired outputs Output data: Public communication Output data: Datasets Output data: Knowledge transfer events For more details about the content of the different datasets, see the About the datasets section in the datasets page of the SNSF Data Portal, or the glossary. For more information about how to use and interact with these datasets, see the tutorial in the Quarto files available in English (en.qmd), German (de.qmd), and French (fr.qmd) or look at the script under R/output_data_figure.R.
