The determination of fruit fly (Diptera: Tephritidae) fauna in Adıyaman, Kilis, and Şanlıurfa provinces with a new record for Turkish fauna

Abstract

This study is based on the fruit fly (Diptera: Tephritidae) materials collected from Adiyaman, Kilis, and Sanliurfa provinces during 2009 and 2010. Specimens were collected from host plants using an insect net. During this study, 42 species belonging to 13 genera from 3 subfamilies were determined in this region. Urophora tenuis Becker, 1908 is recorded for the first time from Turkey. In addition, zoogeographic distribution and wing figures of all species are given.
