The paper traces the life course of prof. Todor Hristov, with an emphasis on his major scientific works and contributions. Todor Hristov’s contributions to the transformation of economic geography into socio-economic geography were of crucial importance for the geographical science, and so was his role in clarifying the theoretical foundations of socio-economic geography and theoretical geography, the geopolitical position and the zoning of Bulgaria’s geospace, as well as the geopolitical cadaster of the world and the modern (at the beginning of the twenty-first century) political geography of Bulgaria.
