Abstract

A new species of the genus Araeopteron Hampson, 1893 from China: Araeopteron zheganensis , sp. nov., collected from Zhejiang and Jiangxi Provinces, as well as a new subspecies, A. nigrizonatum chinensis , ssp. nov., recorded from Yunnan, Fujian, Zhejiang and Chongqing. The study provides illustrations of the adults and genitalia of A. zheganensis , sp. nov. and the new subspecies A. nigrizonatum chinensis , ssp. nov. and includes comparative analyses with morphologically similar species.
