The holotype of Cyana bianca (Walker, 1856) is examined. As a result, the species previously considered as C. bianca is described as new: C. abrupta Volynkin & Černý, sp. nov. (NE India, Nepal and Bangladesh). Cyana bianca is assigned with Cyana insularis (Draudt, 1914) species-group. Another taxon of this group, C. malacca Lourens, 2017 is synonymized with C. carmina (Černý, 1993) and downgraded to the subspecies level: Cyana carmina malacca Lourens, 2017, syn. & stat. nov. The male genitalia of the recently described C. juliettae Lourens, 2017 are illustrated for the first time.
