Handbuch Validierung non-formal und informell erworbener Kompetenzen

Abstract

Dieser Beitrag zum Stand der Forschung im Bereich der Validierung von informell und non-formal erworbenen Kompetenzen sichtet die bildungswissenschaftliche Literatur aus dem deutsch- und englischsprachigen Raum. Er richtet somit den Blick auf ein mittlerweile globales Forschungsfeld, das sich in unterschiedlichen Teildisziplinen insbesondere der Erziehungswissenschaft etabliert hat – ausgehend von Ländern, in denen Validierungsverfahren früh entwickelt wurden. Der Beitrag diskutiert theoretische Grundlagen der Validierung, Erkenntnisse zur Verbreitung und Ausgestaltung solcher Verfahren, Befunde zum Zugang zur Validierung und zu deren Wirkung sowie Literatur zu den Faktoren, die die Entwicklung der Validierung begünstigen oder hemmen. Zentral ist die Erkenntnis, dass sich Validierungsverfahren weltweit zwar etabliert haben, dass durch sie aber deutlich weniger Menschen einen erleichterten Zugang zu Abschlüssen haben als die Bildungspolitik oft erwartet.
