Abstract

Insekten sind fundamentaler Teil der Lebensgrundlagen unserer Welt. Das Ausmaß des Insektensterbens in Deutschland, in Europa, weltweit ist deshalb dramatisch. Warum insbesondere die industrielle Agrarindustrie die Lebensräume der Insekten so massiv bedroht, welche Auswege möglich sind und viele weitere spannende Aspekte erklärt der Insektenatlas. Er liefert Daten und Fakten über Nütz- und Schädlinge in der Landwirtschaft, formuliert die Kritik an der zu zögerlichen Politik und benennt auch gerade mit Blick auf die 15. Weltnaturschutzkonferenz in China und den Vorsitz Deutschlands im Rat der Europäischen Union im kommenden Jahr, die dringend notwendigen Schritte zum Schutz der Insekten.
