ABSTRACT: Household air pollution (HAP) is a major health risk, especially in the Global South, yet is often overlooked in integrated assessment models. Alternative socioeconomic and climate policy scenarios could affect access to clean energy and, in turn, HAP exposure. The rhap R package estimates health impacts from HAP under alternative scenarios using outputs from the Global Change Analysis Model (GCAM). It is based on an econometric model linking health outcomes to direct emissions and diverse socioeconomic factors. Though originally built for GCAM, rhap is flexible and can be adapted for use with other IAMs in global scenario analysis. This poster will be presented at the IAMC Annual Meeting 2025, Onsite Poster Festival Session 2. The session takes place on Tuesday, 11th November, 2025.
