Abstract The third instar larva and pupa of Dynastes neptunus Quenzel are described using 15 specimens collected in Cotopaxi, Ecuador. Drawings of the diagnostic structures, notes on the biology of this species and a key to the known third instar larvae of the genus Dynastes are included.
