Desmiphora ( Desmiphora ) hirticollis (Olivier, 1800) (Coleoptera, Cerambycidae, Lamiinae, Desmiphorini), previously known from the Western Hemisphere, is recorded from Taiwan, and the new data represents a new country record and the first Asian record for both the genus and the species. The specimen was found in a natural environment approximately 4 km from the Port of Kaohsiung. The establishment of the species in Taiwan remains to be confirmed.
