Abstract

Le pronom pers. de la 1re sing. était originellement /ĝa’e/. Au plus tard à l’ép. paléobab., mais peut-être déjà antérieurement, /ĝa’e/ a évolué en /ĝe’e/, puis éventuellement en /ĝe/. En ce qui concerne le pronom pers. de la 2e sing., on peut hésiter entre /za’e/ et /ze/ (ou /ze/). A l’ép. paléobab., et peut-être déjà au IIIe millénaire, il existe une opposition entre des formes non marquées en /e/ (ĝe26-e, ZA.E) et des formes marquées en /a/ (ĝa2-a, za-a). En ce qui concerne l’ép. paléobab., ces dernières se rencontrent presque toujours dans des cas où un nom serait, dans des conditions identiques, dépourvu de suffixe: O (mais pas S), pendens, etc. La fonction la mieux attestée des formes en /a/ est de marquer l’objet direct. Il est possible qu’on ait ainsi cherché à distinguer une forme sujet (S, A) d’une forme objet (O), mais cet essai ne semble pas s’être imposé.
