Funding transparency plays a critical role in maintaining the integrity and credibility of research. Properly acknowledging funding sources helps the scholarly community evaluate findings in context, strengthens trust in published work, and supports funders in tracking the impact of their investments. It also enables researchers to demonstrate productivity and meet funder and publisher requirements. In this one-hour webinar, COPE and Crossref explored how organisations can contribute to accurate and consistent reporting of funding information across the research lifecycle. The session highlights: Why funding transparency matters for researchers, publishers, and funders COPE’s guiding principles for publishing organisations How Crossref supports the sharing and standardisation of funding data Practical ways to connect policy and implementation Tools and resources available to operationalise best practices
