The results of a survey on the calyptrate Diptera from the northern primitive forest region of the Greater Khingan Mountains in Inner Mongolia, China, are reported. A total of over 8,000 specimens were collected and identified, representing 7 families, 37 genera, and 55 species. Notably, 18 species were recorded for the first time in China: Family Anthomyiidae— Eutrichota frigida (Zetterstedt, 1845), Pegomya notabilis (Zetterstedt, 1846), Pegomya vittigera (Zetterstedt, 1838), Pegomya zonata (Zetterstedt, 1838), Zaphne occidentalis (Malloch 1920); Family Fanniidae—Fannia bifimbriata Collin, 1938; Family Muscidae—Coenosia alaskensis Huckett, 1965, Coenosia cilita Hennig, 1961, Helina cilipes (Schnabl, 1889), Mydaea orthonevra (Macquart, 1835), Spilogona contractifrons (Zetterstedt, 1838), Spilogona griseola (Collin, 1930); Family Scathophagidae—Cordilura aberrans Becker, 1894, Megaphthalma pallida (Fallén, 1819); Family Tachinidae—Peleteria iterans (Walker, 1849), Peribaea hertingi Andersen, 1996, Phebellia trichiosomae (Sellers, 1943), Siphona flavifrons Staeger, 1849. This study presents 37 photographs of adults and terminalia from 18 newly recorded species for China, along with detailed distribution data for 55 species. The specimens examined were kept in the Insect collection of Inner Mongolia Agricultural University (IMAU).
