A review of the genus Oxychalepus Uhmann, 1937 (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae: Cassidinae)

Abstract

The species of Oxychalepus Uhmann, 1937 are reviewed. Thirteen species are treated as valid. Oxychalepus alienus (Baly, 1885) is removed from synonymy; O. angulatus from Argentina and Bolivia is described as new; O. insignatus (Chapuis, 1877) is reinstated to full species status; O. trispinosus (Pic, 1931) is treated as incertae sedis. All species are illustrated and a key to the species is presented.
