Session of Monday, December 30 The Society was called to order by President Charles E. Van Hise at 9.15 o’clock a m, at the University of New Mexico. A cordial address of welcome was delivered by President W. G. Tight, of the University of New Mexico, to which response was made by President Van Hise. The report of the Council was called for, and was presented by the Secretary, in print, as follows: REPORT OF THE COUNCIL To the Geological Society of America, in Twentieth Annual Meeting assembled: The regular annual meeting of the Council was held at New York in connection with the meeting of the Society.
