Abstract

Da in manchen Laboratorien der yon R o t h e n f u s s e r ffir seine Glycerinbestimmungsmethode vorgeschriebene N eub a u e r-Tiegel nicht vorhanden sein diirfte, mSchte ich hier einen yon mir erprobten Ersatz ffir denselben beschreiben. Ich nehme einen einfaehen Gooch-Tiegel yon Porzellan, als dessen Ffillung Asbest dient, behandle die Asbestlage zuniichst mit heit3er Schwefelsiiure in der vorgeschriebenen Konzentration und wasche sodann mit heil~em Wasser bis zum vSltigen Verschwinden der sauren Reaktion aus. Damit ist der Tiegel ftir die Filtration des Calciumoxalates fertig. Anstatt nun, wie Ro t h e n f u s s er vorschreibt, den oxalsauren Kalk im Tiegel zu 15sen, bringe ich den Asbest nebst ~qiederschlag quantitativ wieder in den Kolben, in welchem die F~llung vorher stattgefunden hatte, eventuell in ein geriiumiges Becherglas, fiige die HMfte der vorgeschriebenen Menge Schwefels~mre hinzu, gleichzeitig damit den auf den Kolbenhals gesetzten oder dariiber gehaltenen Gooch-Tiegel ausspfilend. Der Kolbeninhalt wird nun auf dem Drahtnetz unter fleil~igem Sehwenken (Stol~en!) zum Sieden erhitzt, etwa 1 Minute darin erhalten und der Inhalt durch den frisch prgparierten Gooch-Tiege l filtriert. Mit der zuriickgestelhen H~ilfte Schwefelsgure wird heit~ ausgewaschen, dann noch einige Male mit heil~em Wasser nachgewaschen, das Filtrat in den Kolben zurfiekgebracht und nach Vorschrift titriert. Um festzustellen, ob der Asbest dutch die Behandlung mit der heil3en Schwefels~ure irgendwie beeinflul]t wfirde, prgparierte ich zuni~chst einen Gooch-Tiegel mit Asbest, wusch mit heigem Wasser, trocknete und stelhe sein Gewicht lest, behandelte darauf mit heil3er Schwefelsgure, wusch mit Wasser, troeknete und brachte wiederum zur Wfigung. Die Differenz betrug 3 rag.
