Abstract

1. Wahrend die Morphoxylessigsaure und ihre Homologen relativ ungiftige Korper sind, stellen ihre Methyl- und Aethylester heftige Krampfgifte dar, welche bei Froschen und Saugethieren pikrotoxinahnliche Convulsionen erzeugen. 2. Wahrend beim Frosch das Ruckenmark an der Giftwirkung mit betheiligt ist, werden beim Kaninchen Ruckenmark, Medulla, Gross- und Kleinhirn nicht afficirt. Der alleinige Angriffspunkt der charakteristischen Krampfwirkung liegt im Hirnstamm.
