Abstract

1. Die Cholesterinwerte bei der unbehandelten, seronegativen Primarsyphilis entsprechen der von Stepp angegebenen Norm zwischen 0,13–0,17% mit einem Mittel von 0,14%. 2. Die Cholesterinwerte bei der unbehandelten seropositiven Sekundarsyphilis sind in 11 von 16 Fallen unternormal mit einem Durchschnittswert von 0,124%. 3. Die Cholesterinwerte nach antiluetischer Behandlung aller Stadien zeigen in 8 von 18 Fallen eine wesentliche Steigerung uber die Norm (44%), 6 Falle liegen in den Grenzen des Normalen, 4 Falle liegen unter der Norm. Diese Steigerung ist unabhangig vom Ausfall der Wassermannschen Reaktion. 4. Eine besondere Steigerung auf 0,2% und daruber zeigen 3 von 4 Fallen von Lues latens. 5. Von 6 vor und wahrend der Behandlung auf ihren Cholesteringehalt untersuchten Fallen zeigen 5 eine Steigerung des Cholesterinspiegels im Blutserum unter der Behandlung und nur 1 Fall ein Absinken. 6. Der Vergleich zwischen Wassermannscher Reaktion und Hohe des Cholesteringehaltes ergibt fur die positive Wassermannsche Reaktion einen niederen Cholesterinwert, fur die negative Wassermannsche Reaktion nach antiluetischer Behandlung eine Steigerung des Cholesterinspiegels im Blutserum. Der Durchschnittscholesterinwert von 26 seropositiven Fallen betragt 0,128%; von 22 seronegativen Fallen 0,149%.
