Abstract

Das Potential W einer Doppelbelegung~ die auf einer Curve oder Fl~che ~ ausgebreitet ist, besitzt bekanntlieh die Eigenschaft~ class seine Differentialquotienten nach der Normale zu beiden Seiten yon ~ einander gleich sind. Zum Beweis dieser Eigenschaft sind jedoeh au6er der Stetigkeit der Belegung noch andere Voraussetzungen 1) fiber dieselbe nSthig, z. B. die Differentiierbarkeit nach gewissen Parametern. Dagegen kann ein Satz bewiesen werden~ zu dessen Giltigkeit die Voraussetzung der blogen Stetigkeit der Belegung ausreicht, namlich der Satz Wenn an irgend einer Stelle stetiger Krfimmung yon z der naeh der Normale genommene Differentialquotient yon W (A) auf der einen Seite yon z existiert, so existiert er auch auf der gndern Seite, und die beiden Differentialquotieaten sind einander gleieh. Dieser Satz liefert die LSsung des sogenannten derivierten D i r i c h l e t ' s c h e n Problems2)~ welches in der Theorie des ~agnetismus auftritt: Eine innerhalb (au6erhMb) der gesehlossenen Curve oder Flache ~ harmonische Function zu constrnieren~ deren Differentialquotient naeh der innern (gugern) NormMe beliebig, 3) nur in stetiger Weis% vorgeschriebene Werte ~ besitzt~ und zwar ffir alle Curven und Flgehen~ auf welehe die N eum ann 'sche Methode nach den neueren Untersuchungen yon It. P o i n e a r 6 ~) anwendbar ist.
