Aus den bisher vorliegenden Beobachtungen kann man schliesen, das Asparaginsaure und ihr Amid, das Asparagin, in den Proteinstoffen polypeptidartig gebunden sind. Bei ihrer weiten Verbreitung in der Natur schien es uns interessant, solche peptidartige Derivate der Saure und des Amids kunstlich darzustellen. Fur diesen Zweck haben wir zunachst die Methode benutzt, welche bei den einbasischen Aminosauren zum Ziele fuhrte, d. h. die Kombination der Asparaginsaure und des Asparagins mit halogenhaltigen Saurechloriden, wie Chloracetylchlorid oder α-Bromisocapronylchlorid, und nachtraglichen Ersatz des Halogens durch Amid.
