Investigations in the field of gender identity disorder (GID) have been mostly related to psychiatric comorbidity and severe psychiatric disorders, but have largely overlooked the complexities of gender identity itself. This study aims to explore the nuances of gender identity and its impact on individuals with GID. By examining the psychological and social factors that contribute to the development and maintenance of GID, this research seeks to provide a more comprehensive understanding of this complex issue. The findings of this study have the potential to inform the development of more effective interventions and treatments for individuals with GID, ultimately improving their quality of life.
