The clinical diagnosis of multiple system atrophy (MSA) is challenging due to its varied presentation and lack of specific markers. A neuropathologic examination is essential for a definitive diagnosis. The symptoms of MSA can be similar to those of other neurodegenerative diseases, making it difficult to diagnose accurately. A thorough medical history, physical examination, and laboratory tests are necessary to rule out other conditions and confirm the diagnosis of MSA.
