Understanding Cochlear Dead Regions in Tinnitus

Abstract

One of the hypotheses on the etiology of non-pulsatile tinnitus in normal or hearing impaired patients is the existence of sharp edged cochlear dead regions (DR) flanking normal functioning hair cells. This study aims to investigate the relationship between cochlear dead regions and tinnitus. The results of this study will provide valuable insights into the underlying mechanisms of tinnitus and may lead to the development of new treatments for this condition.
