Antibiotic resistance is a growing health crisis that is further complicated by treatment failures caused by bacteria that exhibit heterogeneous susceptibility to antibiotics. The aim of this study was to investigate the impact of carbapenem heteroresistance among multidrug-resistant bacteria. This study aimed to identify the underlying mechanisms and factors contributing to the development of carbapenem heteroresistance, and to explore the potential consequences of this phenomenon on public health. The findings of this study have significant implications for the development of new therapeutic strategies and the improvement of existing treatment protocols.
