Increased ungulate browsing has altered the composition of plant communities and food webs of forest ecosystems in many regions around the world. To evaluate the cascading impact of deer browsing, this study aimed to investigate the effects of deer overbrowsing on autumn-flowering plants. The results showed that deer overbrowsing led to a significant reduction in plant diversity and an increase in the abundance of certain plant species. This study highlights the importance of considering the impacts of deer browsing on plant communities and the need for conservation efforts to mitigate these effects.
