Astrocytes have multiple roles in the CNS including control of adult neurogenesis and regulation of the blood-brain barrier. Notch signaling is a key pathway involved in the development and maintenance of the CNS. However, the heterogeneity of Notch signaling in astrocytes remains poorly understood. Further research is needed to elucidate the role of Notch signaling in astrocytes and its potential implications for neurological disorders.
