Understanding particle shape impact on tunnel failure

Understanding particle shape impact on tunnel failure

Abstract

The face failure of tunnels has been extensively studied, but the effect of particle shape on the failure process remains unclear. This study aims to investigate the relationship between particle shape and the progressive face failure of tunnels. The results of this research will provide valuable insights into the mechanisms of tunnel failure and help to improve the design and construction of tunnels. Furthermore, the findings of this study will contribute to the development of new methods for predicting tunnel failure and improving the safety of tunnel construction. The research will also explore the potential applications of particle shape in tunnel engineering, including the use of particle shape to improve the stability of tunnels and reduce the risk of tunnel failure. Overall, this study will provide a comprehensive understanding of the impact of particle shape on tunnel failure and its potential applications in tunnel engineering.
