
The incidence of gastric cancer differs among countries in Asia, and it has been reported that Helicobacter pylori infection is a major risk factor for the development of gastric cancer. Helicobacter pylori BabA is an important outer membrane protein that involves in the attachment to the gastric mucosa and enhances the virulence property of the bacterium. This study was aimed to characterize the Helicobacter pylori BabA protein and its role in the pathogenesis of gastric cancer. The results of this study will provide valuable insights into the mechanisms of Helicobacter pylori infection and its association with gastric cancer.
